MUSIC THEORY CLASSES

3/4 hour 'Work at Your Own Rate' classes
Fridays 4.30pm until 7.00pm

2 hour 'Crash' Course
Fridays 5.00pm until 7.00pm

The Music Centre offers a range of Music Theory classes to cover all needs.

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) require students to pass their Grade 5 Theory Examination before taking the Grade 6 practical examination in an instrument. We therefore provide a ‘crash course’ for those who require it.

We also offer an opportunity for students to join a less intensive course where students work at their own rate with the support of a teacher. This provides an opportunity to build on theoretical aspects learnt during instrumental lessons from an earlier stage. Grades 1-5 are covered and apart from the benefits of improving understanding, means there is no panic when it comes to satisfying Exam Board requirements for the higher grades.
